What does the white and yellow lineson the roads tell, know if you drive

According to World Road Statistics 2018, India is at the forefront of road accident death cases. The Road Safety Report 2018 was released by WHO Global. In which 199 countries were listed on the cases of death in road accidents. According to the report, 11 percent of road accident deaths in the world occur in India. According to the data released in the report, 4,67,044 road accidents were reported in India in the year 2018. In which 1,51,417 people lost their lives and 4,69,418 people were injured.

It is generally seen that in most cases people are not fully aware of the road rules. If people are fully aware of the road rules, then accidents can be prevented to a large extent. So today we will tell you about the white and yellow lines on the road.

Have you ever noticed the lines on it while walking on the road? These lines are yellow or white in color. Sometimes it is in a straight line and sometimes in pieces. You may be thinking that these lines are meant to divide the road in two parts, then you are thinking exactly right. But this is not the only reason. Rather, different types of lines have different meanings. If you drive, then it is very important for you to know. For this, read the next slides.

Broken white lines on the road mean that you can change lanes, overtake and even take a U-turn, but with caution and by giving an indicator (gesture) to other trains. Lines are found here.

If you see a straight yellow line on the road, then understand that you can overtake other trains, but cannot go beyond the yellow line. However, the mean varies from state to state. For example, the yellow line on the road in Telangana means that you cannot overtake trains by staying inside the line.

These two straight yellow lines on the road means that you walk in your own lane, do not cross the line and cross it. This should be strictly followed. Because these are the roads where there is a lot of potential for a road accident. On these roads you cannot even do a U-turn and overtake.

If you see a yellow line on the road, but in pieces, then you are allowed to pass over the broken yellow line. You can take a U-turn on these roads and also overtake, but with caution.

Sometimes you will see that in the middle of the road there is a straight yellow line and a piecewise yellow line together. This means that if you are driving towards the broken yellow line then you can overtake, but if you are on the straight yellow line then you are not allowed to overtake.
