India bans 119 Chinese apps, including Pubji, government says it threatens national security

Amid a border dispute with China, the Indian government has banned 119 Chinese apps, including Pubji. The government has taken this step as it is a threat to the security of the country. The Indian app was also banned by the Indian government after a violent clash in the Galvan Valley on June 15. PUBG has about 33 million active users in India. The game has been downloaded by 50 million people.

What is Pubji and why is it banned?

Pubji is one of the most popular mobile games in many countries, including India. The app has been downloaded 175 million times in India.

Pubji was developed by South Korean video game company Bluehole. However, Chinese multinational Tencent has a stake in it.

Pubjia had also been on target before. Parents were very upset because of the habit of many children. Some states even temporarily banned it.

Pubji then assured that he would create a safe ecosystem by taking opinions from parents, educators and government organizations.

Earlier, 106 Chinese apps were banned

The government had earlier banned 59 Chinese apps, including TikTok. Since then China has banned 47 more apps. The order issued by the IT ministry said that in addition to PUBG, a ban has been placed on Chinese apps like Baidu, APUS Launcher Pro.
