State Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has made an important announcement regarding the electric vehicle policy amid rising petrol-diesel prices in the state. In a statement, CM Rupani said, "Policies have been announced on a number of issues in Gujarat. In India, Gujarat has made a name for itself on the issue of policy grievances. Efforts are underway to make Gujarat pollution free. '
He further said that a subsidy of Rs 50,000 has been announced for two-wheelers. So a subsidy of Rs 50,000 for a three wheeler and a subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakh for a four wheeler is announced. "The government is planning to set up charging stations in hotels," he said. 250 charging stations have been sanctioned in the state. About 500 charging stations will be set up. Subsidy per kilowatt will be given for electric vehicles. The policy will be valid for 4 years. '
He also said that if other states have tax exemption on electric vehicles, then Gujarat has given subsidy. Battery swapping stations will also be encouraged. Production of electric vehicles in the state will start from June. Charging stations will be set up on the highway. 6 million tons of carbon emissions will stop. '
Regarding the policy, CM Rupani further said, "The use of electric vehicles will also reduce pollution in the state. So the government is trying to increase the prevalence of electric vehicles in the state. Daily fuel of Rs 5 crore will stop. The government's target is to run 30,000 cars, 2,000 rickshaws and 1.5 lakh scooters. Capital subsidy will be given up to a limit of Rs 10 lakh. Subsidy will be given per kilowatt. Production will also be increased in battery factories. '
