Aadhaar card is an important document. But sometimes due to human error, the name gets it wrong. Sometimes you make a mistake in updating your address, or you have trouble updating your phone number. However, it has become easier to improve now. You can now update your information manually through the new Aadhaar service. It allows you to change your name, address, date of birth and gender online.



To update Aadhaar, Aadhaar card holders have to visit the SSUP portal, where Aadhaar card holders can update their information online. Not only this, with the help of this you can update more than one piece of information at a time. But one thing to keep in mind here is that for every request to update the information, you have to pay Rs 50.

Click on this link https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ to update your details like name, gender, date of birth and address through SSUP. Where Rs 50 will be charged for updating every detail.

To update the gender, OTP is provided through mobile / face authentication, through which authentication is done.

A scanned copy of the address proof must be uploaded to update the address. If you do not have proof of address, then you can update the address by writing a letter.

Apart from this, you must have your phone number to which your Aadhaar card is linked, as OTP is sent to your registered mobile number for authentication.

To update support, first visit the official website of UIDAI https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ and click on 'Proceed to update support'.

Then enter the base number and click on the option to send OTP to fill the captcha.

This will be followed by a six digit OTP on your registered mobile number. As soon as you enter OTP, you will be allowed to update your Aadhaar data.

You can then update your name, address, date of birth or language where necessary. Then click the Proceed button. After that, upload the documents related to the updates you made to your Aadhaar card.

When the documents are uploaded, click the Submit button and check the changes you've made once again.

You will receive a Request Number (URN) when you update all the details. Using this number, you can know the update of your Aadhaar card update.

How often you can update data
