Mini lockdown unlocked: Night curfew in 8 metros of the state now, traders can get vaccine till July 31, tuition classes can be started



  • Curfew only in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh and Gandhinagar
  • Batchwise tuition classes can be opened with 50% students from Std.9 to PG
  • Educational institutions, water parks, spas, swimming pools will be closed.

The state government today relaxed the restrictions imposed in the state due to the Koro epidemic. A meeting of the core committee chaired by Chief Minister Rupani reviewed the ongoing decline in the daily corona cases in the state over the last few days and re-examined the current situation and took some important decisions. As per these decisions, night curfew will now be implemented in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh and Gandhinagar.


Earlier, night curfew was imposed in Bhuj, Morbi, Patan, Mehsana, Bharuch, Navsari, Valsad, Ankleshwar and Vapi in the state, but now only eight metros will be affected. The night curfew will be in these eight metros every night from 10 pm to 6 am on July 20, 2021 and from 10 pm to 6 am on July 20, 2021.


Traders-employees must get the vaccine by July 31

All owners, managers, and employees involved in business units are required to take the first dose of the vaccine by July 31. Business or commercial or recreational units cannot be continued unless the first dose of the vaccine is taken.


Vijay Rupani and the Core Committee have also decided that all the shops, commercial establishments, lorries, shopping complexes, marketing yards, weekly gujri / bazaar / haats, hair cutting salons, beauty parlors and other business activities in the cities where night curfew is in force. Can be kept open till 09:00 hours of the night.


Restaurants will be able to continue up to 09:00 hours of the night subject to the prescribed S.O.P. Restaurants will be able to offer home delivery for up to 12 hours a night.


The gym with 60% capacity will be able to continue subject to the prescribed S.O.P.


Public gardens may be kept open to the public till 09:00 hrs subject to the prescribed S.O.P.


Exemption of 150 persons on the occasion of marriage

A maximum of 150 (one hundred and fifty) persons will be allowed in open or closed places for marriage during this period. The provision for registration for marriage on DIGITAL GUJARAT PORTAL remains unchanged.


Approval of 40 persons for funeral / burial

A maximum of 40 persons will be allowed for the funeral / burial. Subject to the Corona Guideline in all political, social, educational, cultural, religious events as well as in religious places subject to the prescribed S.O.P., a maximum of 200 persons in the open but, in closed places, 50% of the capacity of the space (maximum 200 persons) may be collected.


Coaching centers and classes can be opened

Coaching / tuition classes from Std.9 to Post Graduate Course as well as Coaching Centers for all types of Competitive Examinations Can be continued with.


Entrance examinations of schools, colleges, other institutes as well as competitive examinations are subject to compliance with the guidelines of S.O.P. Can be held together.


Libraries with 60% capacity can be maintained subject to the prescribed S.O.P. All owners, administrators, employees as well as all persons involved in the operation must take the first dose of the vaccine by 31st July otherwise such libraries cannot be continued.


Exemption of public bus transport from curfew

Public bus transport will continue at a maximum of 75% passenger capacity. Public bus transport is exempted from curfew. (It is imperative that all drivers and conductors take the first dose of the vaccine.)

Sports can be continued in the sports complex / sports stadium / complex without the presence of spectators. (Athletes participating in sports, support staff must have received the first dose of vaccine by the ground staff.)


Cinema theaters, auditoriums, assembly halls, entertainment venues can be maintained at a maximum of 60% capacity.
