The Gujarat government has passed a new resolution on the issue of financial assistance to those who die from corona, in which those involved in relief work will also get the benefit of assistance.

It is pertinent to mention that this new resolution will help the heirs of the patients who died in Corona to some extent. The department has issued a new circular following the new resolution giving responsibility to the district collector, directing him to complete the process within 30 days of receipt of the application while authorizing the collector for rural and urban areas for relief operations.

Announcement of assistance also for those involved in relief work


It is important that the form that has been declared should provide the date of arrival of Kovid Positive as well as the date of death as well as attach the required documents. It is insisted that the assistance be paid within 30 days of receipt of the application. However, the cause of death in the form should be Corona. It is important to note that this new circular was issued by the Revenue Department following the order of the Supreme Court.

Who can get compensation?


If a corona death occurs within 30 days of a corona report being positive, the central government has asked the state governments to officially consider it a "covid-19 death". The Central Government informed the Supreme Court that the NDMA has recommended an ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 to the next of kin of those who died due to Corona, in which Rs 50,000 will be given for every death. The Center told the Court that those involved in the relief work Ex-gratia will also be given. The government said that if the cause of death in the death certificate is corona, then the kin of the deceased will also be given assistance. The Central Government categorically stated that ex-gratia assistance will be provided to the families of the Corona victims from the State Disaster Response Fund.

Let us inform that many petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the amount of compensation. The Central Government had already said before the Supreme Court hearing various petitions that it cannot give a compensation of Rs. However, the court had also agreed to this point of the government and asked to find a middle way.

Commencement of distribution of aid forms to the relatives of the deceased


On the opposite hand, thousands of individuals have lost their lives in Gujarat in the first wave and second wave of Corona. For this, the relations of the deceased will have to apply for the death certificate as well as in the family in which the cause of death will not be corona, a separate form will need to be filled.
