Bomb blast near Kabul gurudwara, month after terror attack

Bomb blast near Kabul gurudwara, month after terror attack

Kabul: Less than two months after a terrorist attack, a Kabul gurudwara witnessed a bomb blast on Wednesday.

The Hindus and Sikhs at the Kart-e-Parwan Gurudwara in Kabul are reported to be safe.

Ironically, the Taliban had claimed that the security situation in Afghanistan was normal and had urged Hindus and Sikhs to return to the country.

“A bomb explosion was reported near the main gate of Gurudwara Karte Parwan in Kabul, Afghanistan. Members of Sikh and Hindu communities are reported to be safe. Further details are awaited,” said Puneet Singh Chandhok, president, Indian World Forum.

Last month, terrorists, reportedly from the Islamic State, had opened indiscriminate fire at the Kabul gurudwara, killing two persons.  It had been vandalised last year as well. The repeated attacks have forced the Afghan Sikhs to seek refuge in India.
