Along with strengthening bones, kidney beans reduce cholesterol, know very interesting things related to it

Rajma-chawal is one such dish that can make any Indian's mouth water and can satisfy his heart, mind, stomach after eating. Actually rajma is very beneficial for the body. It not only strengthens the body, but also improves the digestive system. Rajma is also considered a better alternative to non-veg. The reason for this is that protein is found in more quantity than common vegetables or pulses.

Rajma is eaten all over the world

Rajma-rice is one such dish which is now being eaten all over the world. Rice with thick gravy made in spices is being liked by people from British to African people. Actually it is a kind of seed derived from legumes, which are used as vegetables. When kidney beans are cooked like a stone, it becomes soft like butter from inside. Its softness is making it famous in the world. In India, it is consumed the most, while in other countries it is being used to make both salty and sweet dishes. There are many varieties of kidney beans all over the world, but the most commonly eaten is red and white kidney beans. Some beans of Rajma are also used for fodder for animals.

It is being cultivated for 7,000 years

The history of Rajma is thousands of years old. In India too, it is being eaten for thousands of years, but its origin is not India. Dr. Bishwajit Chaudhary, senior botanist at Pusa Institute, has told in his book Vegetables that Rajma is native to South and Central America and it started growing there thousands of years ago. According to another information, it was cultivated in southern Mexico and Peru about 7,000 years ago. Later its variety kept increasing.

Strengthens bones, controls blood sugar

The science journal International Journal of Biological Macromolecules reports that kidney beans contain certain compounds that may help inhibit the spread and growth of cancer cells. Food experts believe that kidney beans create strength in the bones. It also reduces the level of cholesterol in the body. The glycemic index (elements that increase blood sugar) in kidney beans is much lower than other pulses, which does not increase blood sugar in the body. Rajma contains protein, but its effect is not like non-veg, so it does not harm the liver. Research also suggests that kidney beans also help in controlling blood pressure. The vitamins found in it help in boosting the body's immune system.

There may be allergies, if you eat more then your stomach will bloat.

Rajma also has some disadvantages. If eaten in excess, there may be a problem in digesting it. People who are allergic to eating peanuts or soya may also be allergic to kidney beans. Due to which symptoms of difficulty in breathing, nausea and abdominal pain can arise. Rajma also contains anti-nutrient elements, which hinder the digestion of minerals in the body. But if it is soaked properly and cooked then it becomes ineffective. If you eat more kidney beans, then your stomach can become bloated and belching will keep coming.
