Lunar Missions: Regarding the objectives of sending missions to the Moon, NASA says that the Moon is made of the Earth and there is evidence of the early history of the Earth. However, on Earth these evidences have been eroded due to geologic processes.

India's Chandrayaan-3 mission is now being sent to the moon which we see from a distance. The much-awaited mission of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is all set for launch on Friday. Its objective is to make a safe landing on the surface of the Moon. Neil Armstrong of America was the first man to land on the moon, since then non-manned missions have raced. The Moon has become a target for scientists to study the history of Earth and the universe.

This mission of India is being sent four years after the crash landing of Chandrayaan-2. If the Chandrayaan-3 mission is successful, then it will be another major success of India in the field of space. Meanwhile, it is important to know what is Chandrayaan-3 mission? What is its purpose? Why is the search being done on the moon? What would humans gain from lunar missions?

What is Chandrayaan-3?

According to ISRO, the Chandrayaan-3 mission is the next phase of Chandrayaan-2, which will land on the lunar surface and conduct tests. It will have a propulsion module, a lander and a rover. Chandrayaan-3's focus is on making a safe landing on the lunar surface. New equipment has been created for the success of the mission. The algorithms have been improved. The reasons for which the Chandrayaan-2 mission could not land on the lunar surface have been focused on.

The mission will take off from the Sriharikota center on July 14 at 2:35 pm and if all goes according to plan, will land on the Moon on August 23 or 24. The encapsulated assembly containing Chandrayaan-3 was combined with LVM3 at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota on Wednesday. This mission will make India the fourth country in the world to soft land on the Moon after the US, Russia and China.

Why is the search being done on the moon?

Including Chandrayaan-3, India alone will have three lunar missions. However, apart from this, all the national and private space agencies of the world have sent or are preparing to send lunar missions. These missions have not achieved the expected success. This is the reason why exploration on the Moon is considered a challenge even today.

Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the Moon in 1969 during America's Apollo 11 mission. Decades after this historic mission, exploration of the Moon became important to humans. Experts say that the Moon is a treasure trove when it comes to studying the history of the Earth and the universe.

Regarding the objectives of sending missions to the Moon, NASA's website states that the Moon formed from the Earth and that there is evidence of Earth's early history. However, on Earth these evidences have been eroded due to geologic processes.

According to NASA, the moon will provide scientists with new perspectives on the early Earth. Scientists can find answers to questions like how the Earth-Moon system and the Solar System formed and evolved. Along with this, the role of asteroid impacts in influencing Earth's history and possibly the future can also be ascertained.

According to the US agency, the Moon presents many exciting engineering challenges. It is an excellent place to test technologies, flight capabilities, life support systems and research techniques to reduce risks and increase the productivity of future missions.

Chandrayaan 3 : As we know preparations are going on for Chandrayaan 3. 615 crores have been spent on Chandrayaan 3 mission. Chandrayaan 3 is placed in the upper part of the rocket after which it will be taken to the assembling unit and attached to the GSLV Mk 3 rocket.

Chandrayaan 3 This mission is a very exciting moment for Indians as it is the country's ambitious space mission. Before this Chandra Abhiyan 2 was conducted and this is the third attempt Chandrayaan 3 will be launched on 14th July 2023.

Location of Chandrayaan 3.

ISRO will launch it from the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sri Harikota in the coastal region of Andhra Pradesh. The rocket to be used for the launch is named GSLV Mk 3. Chandrayaan 3 is a follow-up mission to the two previous Chandrayaan missions.

Objective of Chandrayaan 3

Being a follow-up to the previous mission, the main objective is to demonstrate the capabilities of Chandrayaan 3 by correcting the mistakes made in the past. For this, Chandrayaan 3 is carrying out this mission at a cost of 615 crores. The orbiter will continue to use it while still orbiting the Moon.

How will Chandrayaan 3 work?

In Chandrayaan 3, a four-wheeled lander will be landed on the surface of the moon, with a rover inside. According to ISRO chief Dr A Somnath, like Chandrayaan 2, Chandrayaan 3 will also be launched near the southern hemisphere of the moon or the south pole of the moon.

The Chandrayaan 3 mission will be launched into space at an altitude of 100 km with the help of GSLV Mk 3 rocket.

The rocket has the capacity to carry a satellite weighing 4000 kilometers into a geo synchronous transfer orbit at an altitude of 37,000 kilometers.

The GSLV MK3 rocket can launch a satellite weighing 8,000 kg into a low earth orbit at an altitude of 160 to 1000 km.The total weight of this mission is 3900 kg.

Its propulsion module weighs 2148 kg. Lander module 1752, the rover weighs 26 kg. With this expedition, scientists will conduct various researches by running the rover on the surface of the moon.

What will Chandrayaan 3 do on the surface of the Moon? It will study the light and radiation falling on the Moon.

Will study the thermal conductivity and temperature of the moon.

Hukamapiya will also study the movement near the landing site.

Will study plasma density and changes in it on moon.

The Land Rover will operate on the lunar surface for 14 days.

Scientists hope the rover will stay on the surface of the moon for 14 days and possibly even longer. The rover will only send its data to the lander. The Lander rover can contact the orbiter of Chandrayaan 2 by contacting the population module of this orbital directly with the IDSN.

Where and how to watch live streaming

The launch of LMV-3 carrying the lander, rover and propulsion module of the Chandrayaan-3 mission will be streamed live on ISRO's website and official YouTube channel. On July 14, you can witness the proud moment by watching the live launch of Chandrayaan-3 here. Chandrayaan-3 is expected to make a soft landing on the lunar surface on 23 or 24 August.

Why did Chandrayaan 2 crash?

ISRO President A Somnath informed that Chandrayaan 2's Vikram lander had a malfunction while moving towards the 500 * 500 meter landing spot on the lunar surface, saying that we had five engines which were used to decelerate. The engine made more thrust than expected and one of the reasons was that the landing site was small.

For the success of Chandrayaan 3:

For the success of Chandrayaantri, its landing site has been made 2.5 km and it has also been fueled more. panel so that it can be determined that it continues to generate electricity.
